Holly has been a doula since 2009. She believes in creating a healthy emotional experience for all of her clients. “Because childbirth is one of the most profound things we can go through as parents, I believe that having the very best care is paramount.” Holly is trained and certified as a Birth Doula through CAPPA, DONA, and ProDoula. She is also trained and certified as a Placenta Encapsulation Specialist through IPPA and ProDoula. She holds her Postpartum Doula and Infant Care certification with ProDoula and is a Certified Lactation Counselor through Healthy Beginnings. She is continually updating her certifications to stay on the cutting edge of new recommendations, policies, and procedures. Her newest venture is increasing her knowledge set to include homebirth midwifery care. She is expected to graduate with her CPM and begin taking clients in 2025!
It starts with passion:
“After the birth of my first child, I knew there had to be better support for women in childbirth. I did a lot of research and hired a doula myself for my next birth. Through all of my research and with the birth of my second child, a spark was lit inside me. I knew that I wanted to spend the rest of my life helping others navigate our maternity system. Birth is such an amazing and transformative time in our lives and modern society is missing the community care that we used to have. It is my hope that as a doula I can help change that narrative by offering support from pre-conception through the first year postpartum.”
On her time off:
Holly enjoys spending time with her three children, many cats, and husband. You will often find her outdoors; camping, kayaking, or on her motorcycle. Holly is also one of three leaders of her local Litas chapter, an all women motorcycle collective. She loves cooking and playing with her kids. Holly’s adventurous spirit makes her a blast to hang out with and talk to. She is always ready for whatever life has to hand her.
Her magical doula powers:
Holly offers a motherly prescience. She is grounded and patient and can create a calm environment for her clients. She becomes deeply connected with her clients and offers comforting touch to ease her clients fears. She has a way with babies as well. She is able to help her clients understand their baby’s cues and respond before the baby becomes upset creating a peaceful postpartum experience for her clients.
Areas of expertise:
Holly has a tremendous amount of experience with high risk pregnancies and multiples. She loves supporting her clients who wish to VBAC or who seek a better birth experience after a traumatic birth. She is incredibly knowledgeable about placentas and enjoys encapsulating them for her clients. Because she is also a lactation counselor she loves helping her postpartum clients with breastfeeding issues.
Holly works with clients in: Adams, Berks, Chester, Cumberland, Dauphin, Lancaster, Lebanon, Montgomery, Schuylkill and York Counties.
